BMW: BERLIN MEMORIES WEEKLY 41

Advertisements

Shifting between absolute extremes this week. At the beginning of the week I started off clubbing all night in KitKat and cooling down in Vabali. Then, at the end of the week I celebrated Fourth of July and Canada Day with a friend filled BBQ party. It’s insane how much you can squeeze into each week if you sacrifice your sleep.

HAVE A BREAK, HAVE A KITKAT

I haven’t lived in Berlin for long, but I’m starting to think Monday clubbing is the best way to start the week. For a post work pregame, Anjani and I loaded up on pizza and painted our nails before heading down to KitKat for another fun night of dancing. To me, the best part about KitKat isn’t the pool in the middle of the club or dancing in the cages, it’s the fact that they take your phone and force you to be in the moment. I love losing track of time while dancing with my friends. It’s a great way to beat the Monday blues.

VERY RELAXED AT VABALI

To top off the Monday club night, on Tuesday we did a 180 flip and headed to Vabali for a relaxing spa day. Similar to KitKat, Vabali is a phone free textile free spa in Berlin and one of the best spa experiences I have ever had. The entire time I was in Vabali, it felt like I was in an alternate reality. We spent hours relaxing in the spas, walking around the garden and sweating in the saunas. After four hours we floated to my favorite Lebanese restaurant, Babel, and completely reset ourselves post clubbing day. Vabali is now going to be a monthly staple in my self-care routine.

DANI’S GRADUATION DAY

This weekend we got to celebrate my roommates graduation and visit a fun beachside bar called Uberseebar on Weißensee. The whole beachside was rented out by her school and I knew a lot of the people through Dani, so it was a really fun night and I’m happy I could help celebrate.

HOMEMADE BLUEBERRY PIE PERFECTION

This week was the fourth of July and to celebrate I decided to make a blueberry pie from scratch. I’m not trying to brag, but I absolutely crushed it. I loved this pie so much that I ended up making two more throughout the week, just so I could eat more and not have to share.

CANADA DAY VS. FOURTH OF JULY PARTAY

I love throwing parties, so I was really happy this week when everything came together for our Canada Day vs. Fourth of July BBQ party. Nisha was amazing and let us use her backyard as the location for our now second annual fourth of July party. I love themed parties, so I made USA Jell-O Shots, a USA cheese board, blueberry pie and of course hot dogs. The rest of the guests also came to impress, and they brought everything from salad and quinoa to haloumi and a crate of beer. It was a successful party and made me feel so at home all the way in Germany.
