Day Ten: Angkor Wat Temple runs and horror films

Today the guys slept in for the whole morning and I hung out in the lobby writing postcards home. I wrote at least ten post cards before my hand felt like I had carpal tunnel. It was fun taking a moment to pause and write little notes back home. I even wrote one to myself because I’m just that kind of person.

Travel Tip #41

After my hand was too tired to write anymore I decided to switch towards reading. There was a reading nook in the hostel and it had a ‘take one leave one shelf’ with books in languages from all around the world. I found ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’ by Dale Carnegie, so I traded my copy of All the Lights We Cannot See. It was the best book trade I’ve ever made because I loved the book and I still own it to this day. Once the guys were up we went to get massages and then headed back to Angkor Wat.

Bring a book. Bonus points if you can trade it with someone along the way

Travel Tip #42

Our plan for Angkor Wat today was to go to more of the outside temples and structures. We went to multiple temples around the Angkor Wat complex and our final stop was at Neak Pean Temple. Neak Pean is an island temple and the only way to get to it is by a long wooden bridge over the water. Neak Pean was one of my favorite temples that we visited because there was a group of musicians playing relaxing tunes the entire time. It was the perfect ending to our final day at Angkor Wat.
