BMW: Berlin Memories Weekly 28

This week was extremely busy! Work has been really busy and I spent most of my time during the week at the office. To balance it all out I spent some extra time relaxing this weekend and throughout the week with face mask and a little spa day. Despite the heavy workload, I had a lot of fun cheering on my friend during her marathon and UNC during their victory against Duke! To round out the week I also got to have a feast with friends at Caligari. Ending the week with a full stomach and mint green nails.

Skincare and self care

I spent some time relaxing this week with a few face masks, eye masks, a mani pedi, long walks and cuddles with Lola.

GO HEELS, GO AMERICA

Holy shit, I can not believe the games that UNC has been able to have during March Madness this year. UNC was seeded at 8 and had a difficult path to the Final Four, but we were able to beat Marquette, Baylor, UCLA and Saint Peters. These wins were amazing on their own, but the streak put us head to head against Duke in the Final Four. This was the first time UNC has played Duke in March Madness and it became Coach K’s last game as UNC pulled out the win against Duke, 81 to 77. This game was truly great basketball. There were 18 lead changes, 12 ties and overtime. It was insane! To add to the madness, the game started at 3am in Germany… Obviously I wasn’t going to miss this once in a lifetime match up, so instead I went to bed early and woke up early to cheer on our boys. It was totally worth it!

BERLIN HALF MARATHON

This was the first time I have cheered someone else on during a marathon! Not to brag or anything, but normally I am the one running. This year I went with Veronica and a few other friends to cheer on Karen during her first marathon. It was so much fun running in between all of the different stops on the race and I have a new appreciation for everyone who has ever come to cheer me on at my races. It’s so difficult to catch up to people and see them when they run by. You basically have to be playing where’ Waldo for four hours while running around the city. It was super fun and I also loved making signs! After watching Karen and cheering on all of the other runners, now I am extra motivated to start training for my next race. I think I have my eyes set on London.

FANCY FEAST

After the marathon, my friend who ran the marathon rented out Caligari for a friendly feast. It was really cool getting to be in a closed restaurant with a personal chef and the food was amazing. The restaurant was described as hipster Italian on Google maps and I think the description fit well. We had a few starters, which were dips, cheese and green veggies. Then for the main dish we had a delicious pesto pasta. For dessert the dish was tiramisu! The food was amazing, but my favorite part of the dinner was that the chef made a vegan version of everything for me. It was really thoughtful and absolutely delicious!
