BMW: BERLIN MEMORIES WEEKLY 42

This week was filled with friends, food and lots of dancing. I got to show off my neighborhood to one of my best friends and dance through Berlin in the Love Parade. Then, at the end of the week I spent my whole Sunday in Tempelhoferfeld and Sisyphos. Sounds like a great week to me!

BELATED BIRTHDAY BOOK

I started off this week with a fun belated birthday surprise from Charlotte who flew across the ocean to hand deliver me this gift. The book inside the adorably recycled paper is called “You Were Born for This” and it’s a mix between learning astrology and practicing therapy. It’s a great gift and a perfect book for me. I can’t wait to dive into the descriptions.

WEEK FULL OF FOOD

I am stuffed again after looking back on pictures from all the food we ate this week. We had a fun mix of old and new cuisines. We went to some of my favorite spots like Zula and Umami as well as some new spots like Betty N’ Caty and Engelberg. The food everywhere was amazing and trying new places with an old friend is always a delight.

LOVE PARADE

On Saturday we got dressed up in our best outfits and headed out to my first parade in Berlin. To make it even better, it’s the same parade that was featured in Chasing Liberty, one of my favorite movies growing up. The parade originated in 1989 and has been a popular electronic dance music festival each year. We walked and danced for over 10 miles, ending our journey dancing to techno at the Brandenburg Tor.

SUNDAY FUN DAY

We kept the fun day going on Sunday with a morning bike through Tempelhoferfeld and an evening spent dancing at Sisyphos with Charlotte, Meg, Rob and friends. I love the community garden in Tempelhoferfeld and it is always a fun thing to show off to people who are visiting. After exploring the funky park it was fun to cross town and enter another funky area of Berlin and my favorite nightclub, Sisyphos. We danced the whole night and had dinner at the club restaurant, with half of us biking home at midnight and half staying to see the sunrise.
