LIFE IN PICTURES: FEBRUARY

To start February off, I decided to celebrate my special day (my birthday) by hitting the slopes in Zermatt, Switzerland. It was a dream come true to be surrounded by the beautiful Swiss Alps and to ski with some of my closest friends on my birthday. We spent hours on the mountain, taking in the stunning views and feeling the rush of the wind on our faces.

But the real highlight of our trip was spending time at Hennustall, a hilsriously wild Apres Ski bar on the side of the mountain. Truly a birthday to never forget, if I could remember it all.

After an amazing birthday celebration in Zermatt, I returned to Berlin to kick off my marathon training and have some downtime before Valentine’s Day. This year, I decided to do something special on Valentine’s Day and spend the weekend with my girl friends. And let me tell you, it was the best decision ever!

We started the weekend off right by indulging in some delicious meals around Berlin. From fancy brunches to cozy dinners, we tried it all. And of course, we couldn’t resist trying some Valentine’s Day specials – heart-shaped pizzas and pink pasta were a must. Next up, we headed to Vabali Spa for a day of relaxation and pampering. We lounged in the saunas, swam in the pool, and got massages to ease away any stress we may have been carrying. It was the perfect way to recharge and unwind with some of my favorite people. But the real highlight of the weekend was our night out at Kitkat. For those who don’t know, Kitkat is a popular Berlin nightclub known for its wild parties and anything-goes atmosphere. We danced until the sun came up, met new people, and just had an all-around amazing time.

To cap off the weekend, we had a group meal together on Valentine’s Day. It was a great way to celebrate our friendship and enjoy each other’s company. And let’s be real, heart-shaped pizza and pink pasta tasted just as good the second time around!

This month was full of celebrations, including my friend’s birthday and the return of the sun to Berlin! My friends birthday included lots of Karaoke singing until the early morning and my other friend’s birthday included walking home from a smoky club at 6am to run 30km. We also took advantage of the sunny weather that we had in February by spending as much time outdoors as possible. We went for long walks in the park and ran around the city.

This month, a majority of my time was spent running, as I’m training for a marathon and focusing on getting super fit.

I’m proud to say that I’ve been sticking to my training schedule and pushing myself to go on longer runs. In fact, my two longest runs in February were one run to Potsdam and one run to Spandau. It was a challenging but rewarding experience, and I’m looking forward to seeing how much progress I can make as I continue to train.

In addition to my running goals, I also made a goal to not drink alcohol this year (except for my birthday day). It’s been a tough challenge, but I’m proud to say that I’ve been sticking to it so far. I’ve noticed that I have more energy and focus, and I feel great both physically and mentally.

Another lovely month in the books for 2023. looking forward to March and the beginning of spring in Berlin!
