What a crazy week. I can’t believe that I started off the week in Lyon, France and ended the week in Vaduz, Lichtenstein. I wish there were more hours in a day to write about everything that I’m doing in Europe, but I feel like these pictures are a great glimpse into the nonstop movement. I loved my zoo trip and relaxing spa day with Alli on my last day in France. It was the perfect way to end my Easter vacation in the Lyon countryside. The trip in Lyon as relaxing and peaceful, which is completely opposite than my time in Zurich and Lichtenstein. I loved both trips, but while I was in Switzerland and Lichtenstein we were in complete exploring mode and it was non stop moving and walking. I loved the thrill of exploring a new country, but my favorite part is that I had no cell signal in Lichtenstein because technically it’s not part of the EU and not part of my phone coverage. Off the grid and enjoying it!
Jade and Alli’s day at the zoo
On my final day in France Alli and I started off with a trip to Les Halles de Lyon, the botanical gardens and the zoo. Les Halles was a really cool food hall full of cheese, meats, desserts and other specialty foods. It was fun to try out some local food as well as empanadas for our smorgasbord brunch. After filling up on oreillettes and bugnes, we walked to the nearby Galeries Lafayette for a quick shopping trip. The day was beautiful, so after perusing the shopping mall stores we headed back outside and wandered around the zoo and botanical garden until we were nice and crispy red.

ZURICH Reunion
My short time in Zurich was packed full of beauty and art. As soon as I arrived I headed straight to Kunsthaus because I love starting my weekend off with a museum trip. This art museum ended up being one of my favorites I have ever been to and I really wish that I had more time to sit in each of the rooms. I didn’t know what exhibits to expect in the museum, but holy cow… I got to see an entire exhibition by Yoko Ono. It was called This Room Moves At The Same Speed As The Clouds and it was a collection of Yoko Ono’s famous performances in the 60’s and 70’s. I loved being able to walk around and interact with some of her art. It made it even better that it was a complete surprise. Another art piece that I LOVED from this museum was an installation of light bulbs hanging throughout the room with classical dreamy music playing in the background. It was such a relaxing experience and a great way to start off the trip. In addition to the art museum, I also got to check out the Chocoalte Factory, Swiss National Museum, Grossmunster, Fraumunster Church and a ton of other smaller tourist stops. For food I also got lucky and was able to enjoy a pop up food truck hall inside Zurich Central Station! I think out of all the cities I’ve visited in Switzerland so far, Zurich might be my favorite… maybe my opinion has been swayed by the amazing art museum.

Vino in Vaduz
I am so happy that I went to Lichtenstein! First of all, the circumstances of this trip are absolutely hilarious. I went to Lichtenstein with two guys, Patrick and Antoine, that I met in Interlaken, Switzerland while we were all skiing this past winter. During one après ski evening I had mentioned to Antoine and Pat that I am going to visit every country in Europe and during my long list of countries I named “Lichtenstein” as one of the stops. This immediately caught their attention because Lichtenstein is a small country roughly 2 hours south of Zurich and “there’s nothing to do in Lichtenstein.” During the rest of the ski trip, we joked about the adventures we could have in Lichtenstein and long story short… we all followed through on our Après Ski promises and meet up for a Spring trip to the winery in Vaduz, Lichtenstein. The entire trip was nonstop laughing, and I couldn’t imagine a better group of people to go to Lichtenstein. Some of the highlights of the trip were: walking from the largest city in Lichtenstein (Schaan) to the capital of Lichtenstein (Vaduz), taking a bus to the furthest and highest city of Lichtenstein to look out of the country, and having an entire hostel overlooking the Swiss alps to ourselves. It was so much fun, and I can’t wait to visit another small country with these guys.
